Friday Favorites - 5.18.2012

I know you can't actually see me, but I'm totally doing a happy dance over here in front of my computer because it's FRIDAY.  Alright... Alright... Not really.  It's 7 am in good ol' Alabama right now and I am NOT a morning person.  So, no, I'm not doing some awkward white-girl version of "The Carlton"...

Okay, maybe on the inside I am...

Anyways, let's get down to business.  Every week, I give you all a recap of what we've been talking about around here, in case you happened to miss anything.  {Your welcome!}

MONDAY:

TUESDAY:

The one where I shared a business idea
{btw, please check it out and share you're thoughts}

THURSDAY:

Oh, yeah, before I forget, I spend a little time showing my {About} page some love yesterday, so be sure to check it out.

Now that you're officially caught up and all, I thought I'd do something a little different for this week's favorites...  Instead of sharing my favorite things from across the web, I thought I'd share a wishlist of sorts with you...  Some things are going to be realistic.  Others, not so much...  But that's part of the fun, isn't it?

#1 - RETRO CAMPER

My husband makes fun of me for openly talking about my love of Airstream trailers.  I've talked about threatened to buy one, give it a complete makeover, and plop that bad boy in my back yard to serve as my woman "cave".  He thinks I'm kidding... mwahahahaha....

#2 - FRILLY APRON

I think somehow I've convinced myself that my lack of cooking abilities stem from the fact that I don't look cute enough during the process of getting the food from fridge/pantry to dinner table.  Again, my husband doubts me but I'm throwing out the ol' "well, how about you buy me a frilly apron and we'll test out my theory... you know, in a very scientific way...".  He's hasn't given in yet but it's all good because my birthday is coming up in about two months and I'll really lay it on thick then... practicing my puppy face as well speak...

#3 - KITCHENAID STAND MIXER

Okay... so in order to become a better chef I've gotta get my hands on a frilly apron AND a stand mixer.  {You do see where this is going don't you?}  Seriously, though, as much as I claim that I can't cook, this girl can make some mean spaghetti noodles.  My parents bought us one of those handy-dandy pasta contraptions that rolls out the dough super flat  and then cuts it up for you.  If I can get a hold of a stand mixer, I can use the dough hook to keep my hands from having to knead said dough for 16 minutes straight, which is the torture I must endure price I pay for tasty, homemade noodles.

#4 - RAIN BOOTS

I've toyed with the idea of getting some fun, patterned boots {like floral or some kind of animal print}, but knowing myself, I'm gonna settle for a solid color.  As long as that color is something pretty like coral or teal, I think I can keep from being too disappointed in myself for not going bolder.

#5 - FRUIT CALENDAR

In my oh-so-humble opinion, these types of calendars are not worth a whole lot as far as being able to actually use them {read: scribble all over and mark things out}, but I've gotta admit, they are mighty cute.  Really, the only reason I even want a calendar like this is to be able to quickly glance at it to determine what day it is...  Admittedly, as a stay-at-home mom who actually stays home most days, it's rather easy for my days to run together, leaving me wondering if today is "Monday" or "Thursday".  Why, no, I'm not crazy!  Why do you ask?  ;)

#6 - CERAMIC ANIMALS

Just to be fair, I've loved these things since before Sherry Petersik made them cool.  The difference between Sherry and I is that I often talk myself out of buying one and, well, she doesn't.  I say that, but truth is that I do have a white ceramic bird that I bought from Michael's a while back.  I just want to build a slightly bigger collection.

#7 - CRUISER BIKE WITH BASKET

I used to have a cruiser bike in high school and {my one year of} college before it became an all-out trend, but it got left behind when I moved.  Now that I see cruiser bikes everywhere, I definitely think I need to find me a cute one.  With a basket.  Oh, and a bell.  Am I too old for a bell?

{If you know where to credit for this pic, please let me know.}

#8 - {BRACKET} BOOKENDS

If you've been reading this blog for any length of time, and have been paying close attention, you've noticed that I use these: {......}, instead of these: (.........).  Not sure where it all started, but the reason I use them because I just think they just look better.  Is that weird?  Yes?  Okay, anyways, I think these bookends would kind of be a nod to my weird habit.
